Pacific Development Delivers First Building In Alameda Master Plan

ALAMEDA, CA — Pacific Development along with their joint-venture partner, PGIM Real Estate announced project details for Launch, a new coastline apartment complex in the historic city of Alameda.

Located on Clement Avenue in between Schiller and Alameda Marina Drive along the Oakland Estuary, Launch is the first building to deliver as part of the larger Alameda Marina Master Plan, which has been in the works for more than a decade, and is one of the first residential offerings to be delivered in Alameda in the past 50 years.

According to a news release issued by Pacific Development, Launch is 500,000 total square feet and includes 368 residences with amenities that embrace the island's offerings, across five stories in height.

According to the news release, as part of the larger Alameda Marina Master Plan, Launch will bring the first half of the total planned residential units to Alameda's coastline along with increasing overall access to the Alameda Marina via the residential project's 9,250-square-feet long paseo.

"Launch also increases this area's long-term, climate resilience by building a seawall with end of century sea level rise protection," the news release said. "At full build-out, the Alameda Marina Master Plan will include 1.2 million total square feet of mixed-use development across over 44 acres, including a mix of 530 marina slips, approximately 3.59 acres of public parkland space, up to 760 new residential units and 104 deed restricted affordable housing units, in a beautiful, walkable environment."

Launch, along with the full Alameda Marina Master Plan, will reconnect the community with its waterfront and add vibrancy to the previously underutilized water's edge.

Launch's location is just steps away from the Alameda Marina with convenient access to Alameda's eclectic shops and restaurants, as well as the San Francisco Bay Trail, which offers miles of scenic walking, running and biking paths along the waterfront. The larger culturally-rich community of Alameda provides residents with the perfect blend of coastal small-town charm and big-city excitement, with close proximity to San Francisco and Oakland.
